Portland is steeped in history and much of it can be seen in the striking architecture and landmarks.Now, imagine this panoramic experience while riding on a Segway® Personal Transporter (PT)!
Developed to reflect each tour guide’s individual style, the Segway® 60-minute excursion (90 minutes with training) will depart from our 25 Pearl Street location throughout the day and will include information on Portland’s history, its growth as a destination, and a little bit of quirky facts thrown in here and there!
Tours begin with an exploration into the technology of the Segway® and a lesson on how to operate the machine. Then, using headsets to listen to trained guides, riders will roll through Portland’s Historic Commercial Street, on to the Eastern Promenade and back on to the East End Trail.Stops for picture taking will be included as you take in breathtaking views of Casco Bay and surrounding islands.Guests will learn about Portland’s East End and waterfront as well as notable landmarks that played a major role in Maine and U.S. Maritime history.

Segway Experience

Science and technology fans, rejoice! Segway of Boston has teamed up with the Museum of Science to offer tours of Cambridge using high-tech personal transportation vehicles.
Developed in conjunction with Museum staff, these 90-minute excursions of Cambridge include information about the science, natural history, and technologies of the area and depart from the Museum throughout the day.
Tours begin with an exploration into the technology of the Segway® and a lesson on how to operate the machine. Then, using headsets to listen to trained guides, riders will roll through beautiful North Point Park and along the Cambridge side of the Charles River. After taking in breathtaking views of the city of Boston, we head past Cambridge’s renown Stata Center and into the MIT campus, where guests will learn about the world famous institute of higher learning; its history, its architecture, and some of the world famous “hacks” performed by its students.

DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS
A minimum deposit of $1000 per unit will be secured by the Renter’s credit card.
Please read the following information completely as it outlines your Requirements and Responsibilities as a Segway Authorized Renter.
To participate in our Segway Authorized Rental Program, Riders:

Must be at least 21 years of age, hold a valid driver's license and major credit card

No Renters under 21 without legal guardian over the age of 21 to co-sign the Release Agreement, who holds a valid drivers license and major credit card, and is also renting a unit

No Renters under the age of 16

Minimum weight of 100lbs

Maximum weight 260lbs
-
No pregnant women
-
Will be required to wear a helmet
-
Use of cell phone, texting and MP3 players will not be allowed

No smoking, No alcohol
Segway of Boston suggests the following for your comfort and enjoyment:

Wear proper attire no high heels, no bare feet, no flip flops

Comfortable shoes
-
No scarves or such clothing that may impede your safety while using the Segway PT

No shoulder bags (purses, etc) will be permitted, only across the body straps (messenger style)

Dress weather appropriate, including sunscreen

Hats and baseball caps will have to be removed as all riders are required to wear provided helmets
Use the following guidelines to determine whether you will be able to meet the physical requirements necessary to operate a Segway PT safely:

Must be able to step on and off the Segway without assistance, which has an 8 inch step height and which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without the support of a handrail or other walking aid

Must be able to stand for designated periods of time, taking into consideration the duration of the rental you are selecting
Segway of Boston reserves the right to refuse service to any rider we feel unable to safely operate the Segway PT.
